About Me

Hi!  I’m Faith.  I’m  happily married (since 1990); a mom (since 1993). We live in CT, in a log home we built in 2004.  I currently work at home as a freelance proofreader.

Ugh! How boring was that to sit through?  Still here?  Let’s try this one:

Just like John Mellencamp, I grew up in a small town and will probably die in a small town (although I hope not soon!).  I did leave my little town after meeting the future Hubby.  We spent about a year living in Southern California – on Old Route 66, in fact – Foothill Blvd in beautiful Rancho Cucamonga.  We left the traffic and smog and the busy fire station right down the street for the bright lights of Sin City.  After discovering that Las Vegas lives up to its reputation (a place to visit for a week, not live!) and starting our family, we moved back to my small hometown.  After ten years, we finally got our act together and built our log home (the Lincoln Log kit was delivered on The Boy’s 10th birthday – but somehow he wasn’t impressed!).

I worked for the company that The Hubby worked for, until I left them to work for a rep group (that represented that same company, so it was almost like I never left it!), which allowed me to work at home in that wonderful new log home (and by the way, it’s NOT.A.LOG.CABIN. – we have working plumbing and everything!). But, life hands you challenges and we got handed a doozy the week before Christmas when The Hubby was laid off.  When he got his new job, it was in competition with his old job and old company, so we thought it would be best if I left my job to avoid any issues.  After spending some time chasing chocolate dreams (I loved making chocolates, but the food industry is tough!), I realized the thing I loved to do most was read.  And so I started a freelance business as a proofreader and copy editor.

I am not much of a writer – as you’ll find out- but I do enjoy sharing my little world with the big world.  So welcome and enjoy your stay At Home With Faith.
